As part of our commitment to ending hunger and supporting vulnerable communities, HALKEN Humanitarian and Empowerment Foundation successfully carried out a Food Relief Outreach in the Ifekowajo Community, Ipaja/Ayobo Local Government Area, Lagos.
The outreach was organised to provide essential food items and relief materials to individuals and families facing food insecurity, reaffirming our belief that no one should have to struggle for their next meal.
Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), this initiative reflects our ongoing mission to foster sustainable development while restoring hope and dignity to those who need it most.
Our Objective
The Food Relief Outreach was designed to:
- Provide immediate food support to vulnerable individuals and families.
- Help reduce the impact of hunger within underserved communities.
- Promote compassion, dignity, and community care.
- Encourage collective action towards achieving Zero Hunger.
- Strengthen community resilience through humanitarian intervention.
Outreach Highlights
During the outreach, the HALKEN team distributed carefully prepared food packages and essential relief materials to beneficiaries within the community.
The programme successfully reached 50 beneficiaries, providing practical support to help ease the burden of food insecurity while reminding recipients that they are seen, valued, and supported.
The relief packages included essential food items aimed at meeting immediate nutritional needs and promoting the well-being of beneficiaries.
